Where did you see this? Surely not Utah. So my favorite part is how they say “there’s probably no god” which says to me that atheists leave wiggle room. They aren’t saying THERE IS NO GOD because who can prove that? I like to quote my friend Bill Maher :p by saying that “religion is dangerous because it allows human beings who don’t have all the answers – to think that they do” and a lot of times those assumptions lead to antagonism, hurt, anger, etc. It’s really unfortunate because I imagine many religious people are very well-meaning. Just this last week I was discussing religion with my dad and let’s just say it was, interesting. It seems that for every answer there are a handful of questions… never ending questions… and it’s not the “never ending questions” of the universe which makes life fun and exiting but answers/questions that really just don’t make sense. At least not to me.
Perhaps doubt is the foundation of wisdom.
Perhaps knowledge is the foundation of misery because you realize the discouraging nature of reality.
And misery the foundation of knowledge, because without misery, we wouldn’t want knowledge. Futile, I guess.
My favorite billboard, or actually I think it was a bumper sticker was “Don’t hate me because I sin differently then you”. We shouldn’t judge! Everyone has weakness.
